Restrictions
The versioning feature has some restrictions in its use. Be aware of those restrictions in order to make the best of those functionalities:
Restriction |
Description |
Cost and price |
The system displays the calculated costs distributed per product or component. However it’s not possible to see the cost and price per each version. |
Coupling |
It is not possible to couple more than 1 component in versioned products. |
Engineering path |
In the estimate’s engineering tab the versions are displayed only for the final products. The process is displayed as only one path. |
|
|
Finishing |
Finishing has to be identical through all the different versions. |
Manually added processes |
Processes added manually in the engineering tab are added to all runs or to none at all. |
One product, multiple runs |
It’s not possible to use the same product in more than one run. |
Packaging |
The system doesn’t allow to put versioned products in the same package. Once a product is versioned, each version goes a separate path until the end. |
Partial Job |
It´s not possible to use partial Job (tag 7) in a versioned estimate. |
Plate lifespan |
The system cannot calculate the plate lifespan automatically in a versioned estimate. It is necessary to inform it manually in the additional plate. |
Price list |
Versioned estimates do not work with the Price list |
Wide format |
Wide format products cannot be versioned. |
PS creation |
It is not possible to create a PS from a versioned estimate or job via Sales > iQuote > Product Specification > New. Go to the respective Estimate or Job and click More actions > Products > Create Product specification. |
Copy Job data to PS |
It's not possible to copy the Job data from a versioned final product to a Product Specification, in Planning > Planner > Job > More actions > Product specification related > Copy job data for PS. |
PS family |
It's not possible to use price list in versioned PS families. |
Besides the restrictions described above – which are applicable to all product types – products containing more than one components (such as magazines, kits etc.) also may have some composition restrictions. Check below which scenarios are supported by iQuote versioning:
