Speed Table

In the Speed Table record, the user can set the speed according to the number of machine cycles. The speed table must be linked to the Production Group, through the Speed tab in the Production Group record. For more information, refer to "Production Group Speed.”

Based on the table linked to the Production Group, the Engineering calculate how many hours the machine needs to produce a certain job. The total time information is also used to determine the machine’s cost for a particular job.

Information on the Speed Table Record Window

Go to Sales > Records > iQuote > Engineering > Speed Table

Add Speed Table

The user is required to have enabled the following access options, for adding speed tables:

EPS > SALES > RECORDS > IQUOTE > ENGINEERING > SPEED TABLE > ADD SPEED TABLE

In the system’s main menu, click Sales > Records > iQuote > Engineering > Speed Table or enter "Speed table" in the Quick Search field

Click Add. The following screen will open:

Complete the fields as described below:

Field

Description

Description

Name of the speed table linked to the Production Group. The user can link more than one table to the same Production Group.

Active

Speed table situation that indicates if it can be linked to the Production Group.

Interpolate speeds

Allows the user to determine if the speed table should interpolate its speeds, that is, if a speed corresponding to intermediate values in the scale of production should or not be calculated as follows:

Where x is the speed to be applied.

Taking in consideration the following table...

Scale of Production

Speed

Starting at

1

8000

1000

7000

2000

6000

5000

5500

...if the value calculated by the Engineering is 500 machine cycles, the calculation will be:

where x = 7500

If this option is not enabled the table will not interpolate the speeds. Considering the same speed table above, if the quantity calculated in the machine cycle is 500, the speed will be 8000. If the quantity calculated in the cycle is 10, the speed will also be 8000. This way all quantities calculated in the machine cycle in the same range in the scale of production have the same speed.

Use average speed when versioning

Allows you to define if the system should use the average speed or not.

If the component that you are estimating has versions and you select this check box, the system will divide the product’s quantity by the quantity of runs that the engineering calculates.

For example, imagine that you have an Estimate for which the Engineering calculated two runs in the Press activity and the Goods Qty. is 700. In this case, the system would divide 700 by 2 and use the speed of 9,100.00 (according to the image below).

Complete the fields as described below:

Field

Description

Active

Production scale situation that indicates if it can be linked to the Production Group.

Starting at

List of ranges for quantities produced in the machine that indicate the speed to be used. Enter the values considering the criteria “Starting at”, that is, using the following table as an example, starting at 1 (quantity) the speed applied will be 8000. Starting at 1000 the speed applied will be 7000 and so on. This value can vary if the option Interpolate Speeds is enabled.

Scale of Production

Speed

Starting at

1

8000

1000

7000

2000

6000

5000

5500

Speed

Speed value applied to the Engineering, according to the scale of production. If the option Interpolate Wastes is enabled this speed can vary according to the scale of production.

Minimum Time

Minimum time in minutes applied ti the speed linked to the Production Group. If the time calculated according to the table for the machine cycles is shorter than the minimum time, the minimum time is considered for calculating the cost/ hour.

Additional Time

Allows adding extra time to the time calculated with the speed value. Considering the machine need to print 1000 products and it has a 1000 cycles/ hour speed it will be necessary 1 hour top print all products. If this field is filled with 10 minutes you will have total 10h10 to print 1000 cycles, therefore the machine will have less cycles in 1 hour.

When finished, click Save.

Note: Speed table can also be add through the Production Group record. For more information, refer to "Using the Quick Link".

Edit Speed Table

The user is required to have enabled the following access options, for adding speed tables:

EPS > SALES > RECORDS > IQUOTE > ENGINEERING > SPEED TABLE > EDIT SPEED TABLE

In the system’s main menu, click Sales > Records > iQuote > Engineering > Speed Table or enter "Speed table" in the Quick Search field

Click the appropriate table to select it.

Click Edit.

Edit as needed. For more information on the buttons and fields on this screen, refer to “Add Speed Tables.”

When finished, click Save.

Delete Speed Table

The user is required to have enabled the following access options to be able to delete Speed tables:

EPS > SALES > RECORDS > IQUOTE > ENGINEERING > SPEED TABLE > DELETE SPEED TABLE

In the system’s main menu, click Sales > Records > iQuote > Engineering > Production Group or enter "Speed Table" in the Quick Search field.

Click the appropriate speed table to select it.

Click Delete.

Click Yes to confirm the action.

Note: If the selected table is being used, the system displays a message that it can not be deleted.
