Waste Table

In the Waste Table record, the user can define the waste percentage according to the number of machine cycles that will be applied in the product Engineering. The table determines the running waste (that is, the waste during the job execution), and must be linked to the Production Group in the running waste tab.

For more information, refer to "Running Wastes in the Production Group.”

The system will consider the waste linked to the Production Group to calculate the waste in the process. This waste will also be considered in previous processes in the production route, so there are always sufficient material for the next process. Besides that, this waste will be considered in the cost calculation made by the Engineering.

Add Waste Table

The user is required to have enabled the following access options, for adding waste tables:

EPS > SALES > RECORDS > IQUOTE > ENGINEERING > WASTE TABLE > ADD WASTE TABLE

In the system’s main menu, click Sales > Records > iQuote > Engineering > Waste Table or enter "Waste table" in the Quick Search field

Click Add. The following screen will open:

Complete the fields as described below:

Field

Description

Description

Name of the waste table linked to the Production Group. The user can link more than one table to the same Production Group, since a waste table can be used by more than one Production Group.

Interpolate wastes

Allows determining if the waste table should interpolate its wastes, that is, if a speed corresponding to intermediate values in the scale of production should or not be calculated as follows:

Where x is the % to be applied.

Taking in consideration the following table...

Scale of Production

% Waste

Starting at

1

10 %

1000

8 %

2000

6 %

5000

5 %

...if the value calculated by the Engineering is 500 machine cycles, the calculation will be:

where x = 0,09 or 9 % waste

When this option is disabled the table does not interpolate the wastes. Considering the same speed table above, if the quantity calculated in the machine cycle is 500, the running waste will be 10 %. If the quantity calculated in the cycle is 10, the waste percentage will also be 10 %. This way all quantities calculated in the machine cycle in the same range in the scale of production have the same speed.

Active

Waste table situation that indicates if it can be linked to the Production Group.

Use average waste when versioning

Allows you to define if the system should use the average waste or not.

If the component that you are estimating has versions and you select this check box, the system will divide the product’s quantity by the quantity of runs that the engineering calculates.

For example, imagine that you have an Estimate for which the Engineering calculated two runs in the Press activity and the Goods Qty. is 700. In this case, the system would divide 700 by 2 and use the waste of 3.00% (according to the image below).

Complete the fields as described below:

Field

Description

Active

Production scale situation that indicates if it can be linked to the Production Group.

Starting at

List of quantity ranges produced in the machine that indicates what waste value will be applied.

Enter the values considering the criteria “Starting at”, that is, using the following table as an example, starting at 1 (quantity) the waste applied will be 10 %. Starting at 1000 the waste applied will be 8 % and so on. This value can vary if the option Interpolate Wastes is enabled.

Scale of Production

Speed

Starting at

1

10 %

1000

8 %

2000

6 %

5000

5 %

% Running

Waste percentage applied to the Engineering, according to the scale of production. This percentage may vary if the Interpolate Waste option is enabled.

% Reservation

Percentage applied in the scale of production to raise the number of machine cycles, adding the reservation percentage selected in the scale of production to the cycles of “good” products. This percentage will not be applied on further activities, that is, if the product’s pressrun is 1000 it will be 1000 in all processes, except in the groups where a 10 % reservation was set in the waste table, in which cases the pressrun will be 1100 good products.

When finished, click Save.

Note: The waste table can also be added through the Production Group record. For more information, refer to "Using the Fast Link".

Edit Waste Table

The user is required to have enabled the following access options, for editing waste tables:

EPS > SALES > RECORDS > IQUOTE > ENGINEERING > WASTE TABLE > EDIT WASTE TABLE

In the system’s main menu, click Sales > Records > iQuote > Engineering > Waste Table or enter "Waste table" in the Quick Search field

Click the appropriate waste table to select it.

Click Edit.

Edit as needed. For more information on the buttons and fields on this screen, refer to “Add Waste Tables.”

When finished, click Save.

Delete Waste Table

The user is required to have enabled the following access options to be able to delete waste tables:

EPS > SALES > RECORDS > IQUOTE > ENGINEERING > WASTE TABLE > DELETE WASTE TABLE

In the system’s main menu, click Sales > Records > iQuote > Engineering > Production Group or enter "Waste Table" in the Quick Search field.

Click the appropriate waste table to select it.

Click Delete.

Click Yes to confirm the action.

Note: If the selected table is being used, the system displays a message that it can not be deleted.
