Considerations When Using Both ArtiosCAD-X And Automation Engine With iQuote

You can use both ArtiosCAD-X and Automation Engine in the same iQuote installation and even in the same estimate without issue. However, you must ensure that you complete all installation and configuration tasks for both integrations and that both ArtiosCAD-X and Automation Engine work properly. You can then select the appropriate characteristic for ArtiosCAD-X or Automation Engine on the Product tab of the estimate.

Tip: Refer to the Create An iQuote Estimate Using ArtiosCAD-X and Create An iQuote Estimate Using Automation Engine topics in this guide for additional information.

iQuote Transactions to ArtiosCAD

CAD-X

iQuote uses just one call at a time, so if an estimator calculates one estimate, other estimators must wait until the first estimate is calculated, regardless of the number of products in the estimate.

Automation Engine Channels

iQuote use one channel per simulation, so if you have 4 channels available in the Esko Automation Engine license, all 4 channels are used if there are 4 products in one estimate. If another estimator uses another estimate at the same time, the second estimator must wait until the channels are available again.

Note: Filter files also consume a channel.
