Prepress Functionalities
The Engineering uses the Prepress type functionalities to perform functions before the printing process, such as platemaking. The Prepress functionalities are:
1009 – Plate Setter
1038 – Die Assemble
1068 – Paper Treatment
1078 - Imposition
Find bellow the detailed information of each functionality:
1009 – Plate recorder

Linking this functionality to a Production Group
When adding this functionality to a production group, the system will display a window for you to configure the functionality further. Complete the fields in this window as described below:
Field |
Description |
Plates |
Indicates if the selection of recorded plates should be enabled. By enabling this option the system will display all recorded plates. If this option is not enabled, the Engineering will look for all the recorded plates. |
Plate |
Plates the characteristic will use for the Engineering calculation. For more information, refer to "Add Plates.”. The plates will only be calculated on the engineering if the printing functionality has the 1005 - Plate Engineering Component selected as the input component. This field appears only if the Plates option is enabled. |
Click Confirm. When finished, click Save and Close.
Note: The 1009 – Plate Recorder functionality is a secondary process of the Engineering. For this reason, it is displayed only when the Secondary Processes parameter is enabled in the Engineering viewing options. For more information, refer to "Engineering Viewing Options.”

Linking this functionality to a Production Group
When adding this functionality to a production group, the system will display a window for you to configure the functionality further. Complete the fields in this window as described below:
Field |
Description |
Generic characteristics |
Check this option when you want to trigger one of the following events when you select the Fanfold functionality in Jobs and Estimates: Create a new characteristic: it will add a new generic characteristic in the production group. Suppress a characteristic: the system will use the production group to suppress (i.e., complete) from the engineering process a generic characteristic that was part of the product specification. Note: for more information, refer to Generic Functionalities. |
