How to add a high performance power plan to Windows

On your desktop press Windows key + R and type in “powercfg.cpl”. Click OK.

In the following screen, select Create a power plan.

The following screen will pop-up:

Select the high-performance option and type in the plan’s name (e.g.: High performance plan).

Click Next.

In the next screen fill in the fields as shown below and click Create.

After the plan was created, click on Change plan settings:

Click on Change Advanced power settings:

The following window will pop up:

Click Hard Disk.

Under Turn off hard disk after set the time as ‘0’ (this will set the value as never).

Click Sleep.

Under Sleep after set the time as “0”.

Click Apply, then click ok.
