About Esko ArtiosCAD

Overview

The Esko ArtiosCAD Integration guide is designed for the system administrator or other person who is familiar with installing and configuring software. They must also be comfortable editing JSON type files, starting Windows Services and using command prompts. The goal of the guide is to integrate iQuote with Esko ArtiosCAD.

This guide shows you how to integrate Esko ArtiosCAD to iQuote. ArtiosCAD is software used by designers to design folded packaging like corrugated boxes and folding cartons. This integration enables iQuote users to select ArtiosCAD designs to calculate the engineering requirements for the iQuote estimate and job. The integration is seamless - simply select a design you want to use and iQuote sends a request to ArtiosCAD to calculate all possible nesting layouts. Then based on your inputs, the system selects the most cost-effective route in the engineering requirements within iQuote.

Requirements

Before you begin, you must complete the following requirements:

  • Purchase and install Esko ArtiosCAD and CAD-X. Typically, you would install this on the same server as iQuote, but it is not required.

Tip: Note the port assigned to ArtiosCAD if you plan to use the Remote Installation configuration.

  • Organize your ArtiosCAD design files (.ARD) in one directory on the same computer where you installed Esko ArtiosCAD. We suggest you then organize the files into different folders according to the template. This will make it easier to find them when creating an estimate.

Additionally, the iQuote Installer must be available on the same computer and the you must have administrative privileges to the computer server.‎
