Using Samples

The Samples feature makes it easier for you to add an extra quantity to the product production in Estimates and Jobs in order to have additional units of the finished product, which you can send to internal people who might be responsible for evaluating the product's design, or to the customer organizations that want to have an exemplar.

This feature allows you to:

Create samples for the final product, any of its components, or versions.

Create a record for each sample and easily link it between the Estimate, Job, and Sales Order records; which avoids the need to keep track of them between these records manually.

Assign a name to the sample.

Link the samples with the shipment interface in the Sales Order and manage the shipment to different dates and people.

Calculate and reserve the shipment in the Job and Estimate engineering calculation, computing its additional cost.
