Additional Considerations

You can use iQuote to update the product information even after using the spreadsheet export/import feature. However, it is recommended that you not use both simultaneously, to avoid information loss.

To use the export/import feature, you must export the spreadsheet from the system first and use that file to update the Job or Estimate. iQuote assigns each spreadsheet with a unique ID, and you can apply the spreadsheet only to the Job or Estimate from which you exported it. For example, you cannot use a spreadsheet that you exported from “Job A” to modify “Job B”.

You can export the spreadsheet from the same record multiple times. Each time you import a spreadsheet to iQuote, the system updates the record accordingly, regardless of how old the spreadsheet is.

If you add a component directly in the iQuote system, you must export a new spreadsheet from the Job or Estimate record. Otherwise, if you export a spreadsheet from iQuote to update a Job or Estimate record and then add a component to the Job or Estimate using the iQuote system, iQuote will reject the import of the original spreadsheet.

You can use the same spreadsheet more than once.

You can use the spreadsheet to update (i.e., create, edit, and/or remove) product quantities, descriptions, and versions in Estimate and Job records.
