Multi plant in the engineering

Once the user has made the necessary configurations, iQuote is able to simulate the engineering going through multiple plants, which can be visualized and manipulated in all of the system’s features that have engineering, such as the estimate, the job and the specification. Check the example below:

Observe the component Cover 4p starts being printed in plant B, then goes to plant A for the cutting activity and from there continues the engineering process.

Plant visualization

By default, the plants are not identified in the engineering diagram:

Click the visualization icon the lateral menu and select “plant”.

The engineering then displays the plants, identified by their colors – as defined in the Plant record.

Plants button: fixing the engineering to a plant

Note: On versions prior to Suite 8.1 there was a field inside Select route for fixing the whole engineering in a plant. The Plants button replaces that field.

Click the Plants button, in the engineering diagram lateral menu, to see what plants are available for the engineering and which ones are actually being used.

Plants that are available but not used in the production path, are displayed unchecked.

Use the check boxes to select or unselect plants and fix the whole engineering to a plant, if necessary.

After selecting or unselecting a plant, the system displays, for a few seconds, a message in the top left corner indicating changes in the cost due to the modification.

Click the message to review the cost changes.

Sometimes, plants that could be used in the engineering are displayed in gray and cannot be selected. This happens because the user does not have the necessary access controls enabled.

Note: The definition of a plant via Plants button is applied to the whole engineering route.
Some configurations or filters applied to the components might not be compatible with the selection in Plants button. In this case, iQuote is not able to find an engineering route.

Select route: adding a plant for a specific component

User can add a plant to the route for a specific component:

Click on the activity to open the option menu

In the route selection window, click to the select the plant, among the available options.

Click Apply.

Note: The definition of a plant via Select route does not overrule the plant information defined in the component in the product specification tab.
The route selection is inclusive. This means selecting a plant here does not prevent the use other plants in that same component.
